South Korean mobile phone manufacturer LG Electronics in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, has recently announced that the successor of the award-winning LG Optimus G will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. To those who were not aware, Snapdragon 800 is one of the products of the Qualcomm Technologies.
Reportedly, it was said that the upcoming mobile phone will be able to deliver up to 75 percent faster performance when compared to the Optimus G, which is as said earlier, powered by a Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU. The Snapdragon 800 processor is also designed to allow 4G LTE to be even faster by maximizing spectrum bandwidth to increase data speeds.
The Snapdragon 800 CPU features Krait 400 CPUs in quad configuration, an Adreno 330 GPU, enhanced aSMP (asynchronous Symmetric Multiprocessing) architecture, and Qualcomm IZat Location technology for better navigation capabilities. Other features of the upcoming LG Optimus G according to the Press Release are that the device will be have the capability of capturing and viewing video files in Ultra HD format, as well as HD multichannel audio with DTS-HD and Dolby Digital Plus. According to Renduchintala, the new LG phones will be "fully tailored and tightly integrated with the entire next G series platform".
Not only that but there were also rumors regarding the Flexible displays being engraved in the Optimus G2 which would have made a combination like peas and carrots but never mind the rumors. However, reports online suggest that it should be coming at least before the first half of 2014. There is a vague information regarding the features of the display other than being flexible.
Coming back to the Optimus G 2, there are no informations regarding other details about the upcoming LG baby but it is expected to come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, a 5-inch full HD display, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13MP camera and a 3,000mAh battery.
Perhaps the new processor is expected to bring about a lot of new features in so called Optimus G2. Reports also suggest that the devices announcement on 3Q of the year. Price remains untold as well.
