LG, the South Korea based giant, is not limited to L-Series, the best selling smartphone series for the manufacturer till date. The makers behind the hit Nexus 4 is currently experimenting with Octa Core processor. Wow! That would make the company at par with its arch rival Samsung. It is said that Galaxy S4 will arrive with Octa Core processor.
Is LG also planning to make Nexus 8, an Octa Core powered device? Well, who knows? The latest buzz is that the folks over at LG are making an eight core based processor. Dubbed as the LG Odin will be based on ARM's big.LITTLE architecture, sounds delicious. What about the handset to come along so-called eight core processor? The LG Optimus G2 could be the handset that will feature an eight core processor. Looks like, LG has learnt from its past mistakes and now wants to emerge like a winner.
LG Optimus G2 - A Device with Eight Core Processor?
This is surprise news for any mobile enthusiast. Everyone was expecting that a big player like Samsung could dare to launch fully fledged handset based on eight core processor. Hey, LG is also not far behind. A report published in Korea Times gives us a little hint at what South Korean giant has to offer in the coming months.
The LG Odin processor will be completely designed by the South Korean giant. It will be made with latest 28nm process and company is making a step further to sign TSMC for all chip related process. The spokesperson from LG also dished out that LG Optimus G2 will be unveiled at IFA trade show, slated to happen in Berlin. In another report, it is said that Samsung is not keen to use its homegrown - Exynos Octa 5 processor, to be used in Galaxy S4. The company is now prepping to launch the Samsung Galaxy S 4 with Qualcomm 600 Quad Core chip.
At the ongoing MWC event, LG announced the coming of Optimus G Pro. The device is a Phablet with 5.5-inch 1080p HD display, Quad Core processor, 2GB of RAM and 13MP rear camera. The predecessor to the LG Optimus G Pro is said to be go official in India later today, at a price range of between Rs 35,500 to Rs 30,000.
