LG’s Optimus range of smart phones has gained lot of attention and is widely accepted. The phones are feature packed and have some very good specs. The main competitor that LG has in the smart phone market is HTC. The Taiwan based manufacturer of smart phones has been in the game long enough to know the marketing strategies and with the high quality phones they pose some serious threat to other smart phone manufactures too.

LG Optimus Hub and HTC Vivid are made in a candy bar form factor and have full touch screen capability. Optimus Hub has dimensions of 113.4 mm x 60.8 mm x 11.4 mm and weighs around 123 grams while HTC Vivid has dimensions of 129 mm x 67 mm x 11 mm and weighs around 177grams. Both the phones are very compact, portable and light weight ensuring ease of carrying it around. HTC comes in two color options including black and white while LG comes in black color option.

 

Coming to the display of the devices LG Optimus Hub has a comparatively smaller display of 3.5inch while HTC sports a 4.5 inch display. Both the displays are capacitive multi touch in type. HTC offers screen resolution of 540 x 960 pixels while LG offers screen resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. So when compared HTC has a much bigger and higher clarity display than LG and that is an added advantage if you would like to see movies or high definition pictures in the mobile.

 

LG Optimus Hub has a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus. It also has video recording capability and can record videos with a speed of up to 18 frames per second .HTC Vivid has two cameras. The main camera has a resolution of 8 mega pixels that offers image resolution of about 3264 x 2448 pixels. It also has auto focus feature and the phone also has dual LED flash .The camera can record videos of 1080 p resolution with about 30 fps speed and videos of 720p clarity at about 60fps.The front facing camera is of 1.3 mega pixels and it is mainly meant for video calling and also to take self portraits. Both the phones feature face detection and geo tagging options.

LG Optimus Hub runs using a single core 800MHz ARM V6 processor and has Adreno 200 graphic processing unit. On the other hand HTC has a much more powerful 1200Hz dual core Qualcomm APQ 8060 processor. LG has 150 MB of built in storage space while HTC has 16000MB of built in storage space. There is option to increase the storage memory to up to 32 GB in both the devices by the addition of external memory cards. Memory cards of type microSD and microSDHC can be used with both the phones. A 1500mAh Lithium-ion battery powers LG Optimus Hub while a 1620mAh battery powers the HTC Vivid that gives it about 293 hours of standby time and about 4.60 hours of talk time.

Both the phones works in android platform and both have android 2.3 Ginger bread versions. LG Optimus Hub and HTC Vivid are Java enabled and has a HTML web browser.
