LG Optimus L3, L5, L7 and L9 Smartphones Account Over 10 Million Sales
LG has something finally to cheer up in the smartphone business segment. The company officially confirmed that their global sales of L-Series handsets have crossed 10 million units. LG Optimus L3, L5, L7 and L9 constitute this L-Series which was previously known as L-Style series. Out of these models, Optimus L3 and L5 have got dual SIM variants too specially designed for markets like India.
Though 10 million sales for a smartphone series may not appear too much of a milestone, this feat of LG is important on two accounts. They have achieved this figure in 1 year as their L-series smartphones made their debut only in Mobile World Congress event in 2012. The other reason is that they could achieve this amidst the intense competition from highly advanced models from firms like Apple, Samsung, Motorola Mobility and HTC. Optimus L series has been a kind of revelation for keeping LG floated in the smartphone market and the figures speak for it.
LG Optimus L9 was the latest model to hit the market including India in this series. Officially announced only few days back, this model is retailing for around Rs 23,000 in Indian market. It operates on and features a bigger 4.7 inch display screen. Optimus L9 is powered by a 1 GHz dual core processor and also has 4GB internal storage, 2150 mAH battery and a 5 MP rear end camera.
This flagship phone had a unique scanner app called Q-Translator can translate words, phrases and sentences from over 44 foreign languages.
LG seems upbeat about this achievement and we can expect more exciting models in L-series shortly.
