LG Tipped To Launch Smartwatch With Independent 3G Calling Support
It appears like everybody wants a smartwatch, and if they already have one, they want to upgrade to the latest version. Following the debut of the Samsung Gear S, LG is now planning to launch the 3G-enabled intelligent watch, according to a FCC filing.
It is learnt that LG is making the 3G-enabled watch to rival the Gear S. The upcoming watch is set to run on the latest version of Android Wear, and is likely to be less dependent on a companion phone. That means a user can independently make calls without having a companion phone nearby.

A device named as the LG VC100 has been spotted recently. It seems to be the first ever 3G-enabled smartwatch from the house of LG. The watch, LG VC10, is listed as a "Smart Watch with CDMA". Well, this could be a member of the G Watch family.
At the same time, a source close to mylgphones.com is claiming that the 3G capable watch has been found listed in a database with other Verizon devices. Reportedly the LG-made watch could debut in the fourth quarter of 2014.
Currently, LG's existing G Watch and G Watch R are solely dependent on a smartphone to fetch notifications. Both devices have received mixed response from the main stream media.
To date there's hardly anything known about the LG-made 3G watch. Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates!
