LG To Unveil Circular Smartwatch Dubbed G Watch R At The IFA 2014

Smartwatches as such are pretty hard to imagine in the shape that most of the traditional circular watches come with. However, Motorola has been pretty brave enough to choose the rounded dial of its Moto 360 instead of the rectangular or squarish frame that the current time pieces in the market are seen with.

However, the unannounced Moto 360 might not be the only device with such circular display as LG has already started teasing its new wearable timepiece, with similar shape. The teaser video doesn't reveal much but the LG made circular smartwatch will be made official at the IFA 2014 as the teaser confirms it loud and clear.

The smartwatch also seems to adopt a classic wristwatch design and thus you can also expect it to come with a full metal build. According to a recent report one of the LG officials called the G Watch R as a "game changer".

Probably powered by Google's Android Wear platform for wearable devices, the smartwatch, which is dubbed as G Watch R might be the lone rival against the Moto 360 in the market.

Unlike the original G Watch, the G Watch R comes with a button on the side. Moreover, it is said that the device also features a digital step counter, distance meter and compass.

Obviously, its not just LG who will show its latest wearable device at the IFA 2014 in Berlin next week, but at the same time Asus is also all set up to reveal its square shaped smartwatch at the same trade fair.
