LG Uni8 Leaked Online Touting Windows Phone 8.1 OS

By Vivek

It looks like South Korean smartphone maker LG is likely to come up with a new Windows Phone device soon. If the recently leaked LG Uni8 smartphone, which has appeared online, is to be taken seriously, you can expect it to be one potential handset to rival against Nokia which has been a lone player in the Windows Phone segment.

The image comes courtesy of Twitter user @evleaks. The first smartphone from LG running Microsoft's mobile operating system was the one which was launcehd at the time of WP7. Although , there are not much details about the specifications of the LG Uni8, but expectations are that it will be powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor and will have a full HD display. It will be powered by Microsoft's Windows Phone 8, if not the recently launched 8.1 version.

LG has recently launched an array of new devices powered by Android operating system. These are a part of the latest L3 series which consist of L70 and L90. Both these devices are mid-range handsets. Also the high-end LG G Pro 2 has been launched by the company recently.

Moreover, LG's yet to be announced G3 handset, which is the successor to the company's last year's G2 handset, is what everyone is waiting for. It is said to come with a QHD display and high-grade hardware.

Looking at the rich collection of Android handsets from the company, it is hard to believe that LG is trying out Windows Phone as well. However, this could also be the only handset from the company to run on WP OS this year.

Will bring more updates on the handset, stay tuned!
