LG Unveils 5.3 Inch FHD Bezel-less Display Panel
The successor to the best-selling LG G3 could come with a bezel-less screen. LG Display unveiled a 5.3-inch Full HD LCD panel which features a nearly non-existent 0.7mm border.
LG's new display panel doesn't require a plastic frame around the edge. The company has also confirmed the screen will enter mass production in November. The first device to use such screen might land in China first.

"With the growing trend for large-screen smartphones, customer demand for displays with a narrow bezel is increasing, because it enables users to enjoy the maximum use of screen area without compromising excellent grip and design," said Byeong-koo Kim, Vice President and Head of IT/Mobile Development Group at LG Display.
"With this innovative product having many advantages, ranging from its narrow 0.7mm bezel and high-resolution picture quality to its slim design and touch-embedded solutions, LG Display will continue to lead the growing market for large screen smartphones, meeting the expectations of customers and users by enhancing the quality of devices."
Just for the information, LG is not the first company to create an ultrathin bezel-free display panel for its smartphone screens. Last month, Japanese power house Sharp launched the Aquos Crystal, a high-end handset that features a 5-inch 720p HD screen. LG's new bezel-less panel, though is a bit larger and boasts a Full HD resolution.
