LG India Sends Out Invite for February 27 Press Event: Hints at Optimus G Launch

Earlier, this week, report were widespread in the tech media world that LG is all set to launch Optimus G in India in the coming weeks. The first report on this was swirled by TheMobileIndian. Following which, Gizbot also contacted the company's spokesperson and got a clue that Optimus G will be launched in the country next week.

Well, here is the news for all the LG lovers out their in the nation. The South Korean giant has sent Gizbot an invite for an event in Mumbai on February 27, 2013. According to the invite LG is prepping to launch the "Next Gen Genius" smartphone on the same day.

Talking a first look at the invite, it is obvious to predict that LG will unveil Optimus G at the event. As you can see in the picture above, the build of the black smartphone, outling the invite looks similar to the shape of Optimus G. Also, the volume rocker and the power button is also placed in the same manner, just like it appears to be on the flagship smartphone.

Well, this would surely be a delayed launch as the successor of the device has been recently announced abroad, which is, LG Optimus Pro. So chances are, that LG may face a tough time securing sales for the handset, when rivals like Galaxy S3, Lumia 920, HTC One X+ and iPhone 5 have already landed in India.

But at the same time, Optimus G has earned some rave reviews in the market, owing to features similar to Nexus 4. Internationally, LG Optimus is a 4G LTE Android ICS powered handset, sporting all high end specifications and hardware.

As the smartphone boasts 4.7-inch True IPS-HD display (1280 X 720p resolution) with 320ppi, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz mobbed with an Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB RAM. Further, Optimus G houses a13 megapixel rear-facing camera, a front-facing 1.3 megapixel shooter for forwarding video chats, micro USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, 3.5mm headset jack and 2100mAH battery. There is no information on the pricing of the smartphone as far yet.
