Micromax A89 Ninja: Top 5 Dual SIM Android ICS Rivals of Smartphone Launched at Rs 6,299
Micromax has always been a big name when talking of native smartphone vendors. Recently, the company revealed its plans of launching 30 smartphones at different ranges in the first half of 2013. In order to accomplish this milestone, Micromax has started launching handsets constantly with slight spec bumps.
With the launch of two handsets in the Smarty lineup, Micromax has silently launched a Ninja smartphone based on ICS - A89 Ninja. After being teased on the official website, the handset has been launched on online retailer site Infibeam at a price of Rs 6,299.
A89 Ninja is the first Android ICS offering in the Ninja series smartphone lineup while the others are based on Gingerbread. When it comes to other specs, Ninja 89 comes with a 4 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, 1GHz dual core MediaTek MT6577 processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 3MP rear camera, 2GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and a 1,450 mAh battery.
Further, A89 Ninja comes preloaded with applications including Hook up, M! live, M! store, M! Zone+, Fruit devil, and Darkman.
With this information made clear, it is clear that Micromax has entered into a direct fight with all the other companies that have launched dual SIM Android ICS smartphones in sub range Rs 10,000. Several Indian companies have forayed this segment of the market with a plethora of launches, thereby prompting even global vendors including Sony and Samsung to launch handsets in the sub Rs 10,000 price range.
Hence, take a glance at the slideshow below to know the details of the top 5 pontential rivals available in the market.
Samsung Galaxy Music Duos
Back in October 2012, Samsung unveiled a music centric smartphone dubbed as Galaxy Music and its dual SIM version Galaxy Music Duos.
Music Duos packs a 3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 320 x 240 pixel resolution, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB, 3MP rear camera, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB 2.0 and a 1,300 mAh Li-ion battery.
Samsung has priced Galaxy Music Duos at Rs 8,990 making it more expensive as compared to A89 Ninja. However, with music related features, the Samsung offering could be a stiff competitor to the Micromax offering.
Sony Xperia Tipo Dual
Sony has also forayed into the budget segment of the smartphone market with Xperia Tipo and Xperia Tipo Dual.
Xperia Tipo Dual houses a 3.2 inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution, 800MHz Cortex A5 processor, Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 3.15MP rear camera, 2GB internal memory, 512MB RAM, a micro SD card slot, which supports expandable memory up to 32GB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi features, micro USB 2.0 and a 1,500 mAh Li-ion battery.
The handset is priced at Rs 9,990 making the cheaper A89 Ninja with similar specifications as a potential rival.
Karbonn A15
When it comes to A15, the handset houses a 4 inch LCD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 1GHz single core processor, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 3MP rear camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, micro USB 2.0, and 1,420 mAh Li-ion battery of undisclosed backup.
Karbonn has priced at Rs 5,899, which makes it relatively cheaper than A89 Ninja, however, both the handsets pack similar specifications.
Lava Iris N400
India based manufacturer, Lava launched Iris N400, a dual SIM smartphone flavored with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at Rs 6,399.
Speaking of specs, Iris N400 packs a 4 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 1GHz processor, Android 4.0 ICS operating system, 5MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera for video calling, 127MB onboard storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, micro USB 2.0, Wi-Fi features, 3G, Bluetooth and a 1,500 mAh Li-ion battery.
With a lesser price tag and front camera for video calling, the Lava offering should be a rival to Micromax A89 Ninja.
Idea Ivory
Ivory smartphone packs a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display, 1GHz processor, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot, 3.2MP rear camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1,300 mAh battery.
Further, Idea is offering 1GB of 3G data every month for first 3 months along with subscription to Idea TV for a one-time charge of Rs 261.
With an increased price tag of Rs 7,390 and freebies, the Ivory smartphone could be a stiff competitor to Micromax A89 Ninja with a larger display and better battery.
