UMI has definitely made it's presence felt in the Indian smartphone market, with it's last handset offering X1. The China based Mobile manufacturer, has now announced the launch of the successor to it's X1. As you might have already guessed, the samrtphone is titled X2. If you fancy a high spec smartphone for a lesser cost, this is something you might want to take a look at. Micromax Canvas HD 116 better watch it's back, as the new rival has arrived.
Gizbot had earlier reported about the upcoming Jiayu G4 being a potential threat to the Canvas HD 116. Now it looks like the X2 want's to get in to the fight too. Lets have a look at the specs of all the three smartphones. This should give us an idea on who has the advantage.
Display: Micromax A116 Canvas HD houses a 5 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Jiayu G4 comes with a 4.7 inch IPS panel with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. UMI X2 comes with a 5 inch IPS panel display with full HD 1920x 1080 pixel resolution. X2 is the clear winner here
Operating system: All three handsets run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. However, UMI and Micromax have promised Android 4.2 update for their handsets. In this segment it's a tie between Micromax A116 Canvas HD and UMI X2
Processor: A116 Canvas HD is powered by a 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor. Jiayu G4 is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6589 processor. The UMI X2 runs on a 1.2 GHz MTK MT6589 quad-core processor. Based on The processor speeds, all are at par.
Camera: A116 Canvas HD 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling. Jiayu G4 comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 3 megapixel front camera. UMI X2 comes with a 13 megapixel camera at the back and a 2 megapixel camera in the front. G4 and X2 are head to head here.
Memmory: A116 Canvas HD comes with 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM. Jiayu G4 and UMI X2 will come with 32 GB inbuilt memory 2 GB RAM. In this segment Jiayu G4 and UMI X2 are in a tie aswell.
Battery: A116 Canvas HD hosts a 2,100 mAh battery while the Jiayu G4 has a 3000 mAh battery and UMI X2 has a 2,500 mAh battery. Jiayu emerges the winner here.
Price: The A116 Canvas HD is priced at Rs. Rs 13990, the Jiayu G4 is said to launch at Rs. 9000 and X2 has been launched at Rs. 14,000. Jiayu G4 easily the winner here.
Conclusion: If great quality Display is what you are looking for, thenX@ easily stands out. As an overall smartphone the Jiayu G4 is a better option. However not much difference between the two, apart from battery life and price. Of course Micromax A116 Canvas HD has the advantage of being a local brand, but unfortunately falls short in the specification race, here.
