At the same time, an India based manufacturer who is aiming to become the prominent smartphone vendor in the country - Micromax came up with a mid-range smartphone - A90S Superfone Pixel in November 2012. Priced at Rs 12,990, A90S Pixel is also based on Android ICS and is capable of offering a tough competition to the Huawei offering.

Dimensions & Weight: Ascend G600 carries a dimension of 134 x 67.5 x 10.5 mm and weighs in around 145 grams, while the slimmer and lighter A90S Pixel smartphone boasts a dimension of 127.2 x 66.8 x 9.8 mm and weighs in at 118 grams.

Display: In this segment, Ascend G600 sports a 4.5 inch qHD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution. On the other hand, the Micromax offering packs a 4.3 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.

Processor: Ascend G600 scores more weightage with a faster 1.2GHz dual core processor as compared to the 1GHz dual core processor in A90S Pixel.

Operating System: Both the smartphones head against one another as they are flavored with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

Battery: Ascend G600 is powered by a 1,930 mAh battery of undisclosed backup and A90S Pixel is equipped with a 1,600 mAh Li-ion battery delivering 5 hours talk time and 174 hours standby.

Price: Ascend G600 and A90S Pixel are priced at Rs 14,990 and Rs 12,990 respectively.

Verdict

Based on Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, both the smartphones offer similar user experience and skin. Moreover, both are mid-range offerings that are packed with decent specifications.

If the concern is on a faster processor and slightly larger display, Huawei Ascend G600 could be the right option.

However, if the concern is on a relatively lesser price tag, dual SIM support and better display, m Micromax A90S Superfone Pixel should be a better choice.
