Still, the mid-range smartphone segment in India is highly dominated by Android ICS operating system, and even after the release of Android Jelly Bean OS, the smartphone arena is constantly witnessing a slew of new devices running on Android ICS. Reason being, many of the features in these Android-based devices remain the same, besides the same, smartphone makers also add their own touch to the handsets to make them stand apart from the rest.
Recently, Huawei, the Chinese handset vendor who is looking forward to acquire success in India this year, has come up with Ascend G600. The mid-range Android ICS based smartphone was initially unveiled at the IFA 2012 event, and now the handset is available on online retailing sites for Rs 14,990.
At the same time, an India based manufacturer who is aiming to become the prominent smartphone vendor in the country - Micromax came up with a mid-range smartphone - A90S Superfone Pixel in November 2012. Priced at Rs 12,990, A90S Pixel is also based on Android ICS and is capable of offering a tough competition to the Huawei offering.
