Micromax Canvas 2.2 A114: 5 Inch qHD Quad Core Smartphone Spotted Online for Rs 12,999
With the year 2013 coming to an end soon, Micromax seems a bit concerned about its mid-range Android portfolio. In Q3 2013, Micromax managed to capture 17% of the market share, thus becoming the second most talked smartphone vendor in the India after South Korean giant Samsung.

To make sure consumers keep on purchasing Micromax branded phones, the company now plans to launch a new mid-range smartphone in India at a price point of Rs.12,999. The Canvas 2.2 A114 is one step behind the original Canvas HD A116.
The newest Canvas 2.2 A114 is yet to go on sale, however, the phone has been listed on Flipkart. The brand new Canvas phone incorporates a 5-inch qHD display featuring a quad-core processor and runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. The phone is expected to go official this week.

Talking about the internal specifications, Micromax Canvas 2.2 A114 is apparently not a future proof phone, though the price is definitely on an attractive side. If your budget is limited, then you can go for the Canvas 2.2 A114 without any hesitation.
The Canvas 2.2 A114 features a giant 5-inch qHD IPS display having a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Under the hood, there is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor (MT6582M) coupled with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded via a microSD card slot. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box.
There's an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash. The rear-facing camera is capable of recording videos in Full HD 1080p format. Also, add a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
The makers have added a 2,000mAh Li-Ion battery fitted inside with up to 7 hours of talk time (2G).
Other highlighted features include: 3G, Dual SIM (also supports micro SIM), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and FM Radio, among others. The device measures 9.7mm in terms of thickness and weighs 147grams.

Karbonn Titanium S5 Plus
The Karbonn Titanium S5 Plus is yet another mid-range handset. The device comes with a 5-inch qHD OneCell IPS display having a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.
It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory which can be further expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. There's an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash. Also add a VGA quality front facing camera.
The makers have added an1800mAh battery fitted inside. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box Other connectivity features include: 3G, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, A-GPS, 2G , EDGE, Bluetooth and lastly a dual SIM functionality.
Priced at Rs.10,990, the Titanium S5 Plus is priced way less than Micromax's Canvas 2.2 A114. More or less, both devices have similar specifications and features.
