Micromax Canvas 4 Goes on Sale Online: A Big Threat to Xolo Play T1000

Micromax Canvas 4 teasers did prepare the ground for the device to play in the market to some extend. On the other hand Xolo had no such thing preceding the launch or pre orders. Thus, Xolo Play T1000 is likely to get thrashed by Canvas 4.

Talking on the deeper perspective, GizBot had come up with a comparative rundown on the two latest homegrown devices, viz. Micromax Canvas 4 and Xolo Play T1000 to see how they stack up against each other.

Display and Dimension

The Micromax Canvas 4 A210 comes with a 5.0 inch 720 pixel HD Capacitive touchscreen display with IPS and 16M colors. Further, the phone will weigh around 158 grams and will boast a dimension of 144.5 x73 x 8.9 mm.
On the other hand, Xolo Play T1000 comes with smaller sized 4.7-inch IPS HD capacitive touchscreen display that offers a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixel and a pixel density of 293 ppi. The handset comes with a dimension measuring 70x138.4x10.4 mm and weighs 167 g. Both the devices have a similar resolution but Canvas 4 has a larger screen size and thinner than the Xolo T1000.

Processor and OS

Micromax Canvas 4 A210 is armed with a MT6589 quad core 1.2 GHz MediaTek ARM Cortex A7 processor supported by a 1 GB RAM and runs on a newer version of Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. While on the other hand the Xolo Play T1000 is powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with 1GB RAM and the smartphone runs on a Android Jelly Bean version 4.1.1 Operating System.
Thus Canvas 4 has a better Android Version but Xolo device comes with a higher clocked quad core processor.

Storage

The Canvas 4 will come with a 16GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 32 GB and Xolo Play T1000 features a lesser internal storage capacity of 4GB that can also be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD slot. Obviously, users will opt for greater storage capacity.

Camera

Further, Canvas 4 sports a 13 MP rear camera and a massive 5 MP front facing camera. There are quite a number of features of the camera which include 6+ face detection, Scene mode, 99 Continuous (Burst) mode, Smile detection, Photosolid, High Dynamic Range Synthesis, 4 direction Panorama, Effects Library, Geo-tagging, Touch focus and more.
The Xolo Play T1000 has a lower 8 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. The camera comes with the features like BSI Sensor, Flash Support, Auto Focus, Burst Capture, Scene Detection and Tuning, Low Light Enhancement, Face Recognition.
Obviously, Canvas 4 has a better camera looking at the features like 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front facing camera.

Connectivity and Battery

Micromax Canvas 4 and Xolo Play T1000 comes packed with a dual-SIM support, dual standby, FM, 3.5mm Ear Jack but Canvas 4 also supports GPS, GPRS, EDGE, HSPA, Wi-fi, USB, 2G, 3G, bluetooth 4.0, but no NFC. While on the other hand Xolo Play T1000 supports Bluetooth v3 as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, HSDPA (which will give speeds up to 21 Mbps, according to the official specifications). The T1000 also features A-GPS with support for Google Maps. It supports 3G and USB as well.
Both the devices come with 2,000 mAh battery.

Conclusion

If observed from the perspective of the cost of the device, the Xolo is a better option. But again this Xolo Play T1000 has a smaller display. Moreover, one reason Micromax Canvas 4 is likely to beat the Xolo offering is that it features exclusive gesture features like unlocking the phone by the blowing of a kiss and smart pause features which has been feature on the devices worth Rs. 40,000. Moreover, Micromax has priced the Canvas 4 phablet in an anticipated price range thus making it more accessible to the Indian users.
