Micromax Canvas 4 Launched in India at Rs 17,999: 10 Unique Features

The wait is finally over, Micromax has launched it's new flagship smartphone Canvas 4 at Rs. 17,999. The native handset maker has been revealing some sparkling details about the Canvas HD successor for last couple of weeks and finally today at New Delhi the company lifted the pans and showed us the next generation Canvas.

Micromax officials claimed that Canvas 4 is a product aimed at the youth. The word "Youth" signifies an attitude, rather then a age number, adds the company. Also, Micromax roped in Chitrangada Singh to unveil the new smartphone and it does look pretty impressive, given that it costs so less. Let have a round up of the device's specifications:

Form Factor: The Micromax Canvas 4 A210 comes with a 5.0 inch 920 x 1080 pixel full HD Capacitive touchscreen Display with IPS and 16M colors. Further, the phone will weigh around 158 grams and will boast a dimension of 144.5 x73 x 8.9 mm.

Processor: The device is armed with a MT6589, quad core1.2 GHz MediaTek ARM Cortex A7 processor.

Memory: The Canvas 4 will come with 1 GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 32 GB.

Camera: Further, the handset will house a 13 MP rear camera and a massive 5 MP front camera. The features of the camera include 6+ face detection, Scene mode, 99 Continuous (Burst) mode, Smile detection, Photosolid, High Dynamic Range Synthesis, 4 direction Panorama, Effects Library, Geo-tagging, Touch focus and more.

Operating System: The smartphone will run on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and any firmware update for the phone will be rolled out over the air.

Connectivity: The handset comes with dual-SIM support, dual standby, FM, 3.5mm Ear Jack, GPS, GPRS, EDGE, HSPA, Wi-fi, USB, 2G, 3G, bluetooth 4.0, but no NFC.

Battery and Build: The new device comes with 2,000 mAh battery and has a aluminum casing, which should make the phone look really tough. As it comes with 8.99MM anodized aluminum body and Micromax also claims that Canvas 4 will deliver Standby Time time of 220 hours and Talktime of 8 hours.

Suppose you get a call, you can mute the phone by just pointing the display down or you can attend the call by just placing the phone near your ear. Once the call is picked up, you can point phone down once again to enable speaker phone.

Also, you can just go to a contact and just place the phone near your ear and the phone automatically calls the contact.

Once an image is taken multiple effects can be added to it via various filters. Also the company says, the front camera allows you to take self portraits and enhance them, to make you look younger.
