Android One Smartphones in India have started receiving the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. Spice Dream UNO, and Micromax Canvas A1 owners can expect to receive an OTA notification for the Android 5.1 update anytime now.

Spice made their official Android 5.1 rollout announcement yesterday, on Facebook. Micromax made the same announcement roughly 12 hours later, also via Facebook.

Android 5.1 Lollipop brings several changes that improve basic functionality in Android OS. The quick toggles feature is more powerful, users can customize notifications better, ART runtime performance has been improved, etc.

The phone is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor, Mali-400MP graphics and 1GB RAM. The phone has 4GB internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports cards of up to 32GB capacity. Out of 4GB, 2.27GB is available to the user. The phone runs a near-stock version of Android 4.4 KitKat with a few non-removable preloaded apps that include Amazon, Hike, M!Live, and AskMe.

Android 5.1 (Lollipop) update for Micromax Canvas A1 is 409.8MB, similar to the Spice Dream UNO. Since the update will roll out gradually, it might take sometime to reach your smartphone. The update should roll out for Karbonn Sparkle V smartphone soon.
