India-based smartphone manufacturer and vendor Micromax released its latest device called Canvas Elanza A93 via online retailer Snapdeal just yesterday. And now the company's another Canvas smartphone has allegedly appeared online. The news comes from the tweet, which Manish Khatri from Mahesh Telecom posted a couple of days ago. The device comes dubbed as Canvas Duet 2 and the tweet says that it will be priced at Rs. 15,790 and would go on sale later in a couple of days.
At the same time images of Canvas Duet 2's retail boxes have also been leaked by an unofficial blog named MicromaxCanvas. The images also reveal the specs of the device. Thus a unique feature about the phone, according to the leaked retail box, is that the device comes with a (Dual SIM) GSM and CDMA support. This is the first one in the Canvas series to have such functionality. However, previously Micromax in partnership MTS came up with Canvas Blaze MT500 smartphone with a similar feature.

New arrival : #MICROMAX DUET 2 , EG-111. Going by the specs, the Canvas Duet 2 will come with a 5.27-inch touch screen IPS display offering an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. IT comes powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS.
Photography will be taken care by an 8MP auto focus camera with LED Flash along with a 2MP front-facing snapper for taking selfies and making video calls.
Besides the Dual SIM (CDMA + GSM) support, the samrtphone is also compatible with 3G (EVDO), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS support.
The Canvas Duet 2 houses only 4GB of internal memory, but it can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It is powered by a 2300 mAh battery.
The company has not spoken about the device as of now, but you can expect the device's launch within the next couple of days.
When it comes to competition, the smartphone will compete with the number of latest homegrown handsets like Xolo's latest Q1100 and Q1010, Lava Iris Pro 30. Even Motorola Moto G will stand as its most potential rival.
