Smartphones are heading over thick and fast these days. In fact, the regular inflow of handsets has seen the native market grow and evolve in the last few years. And that trend doesn't seem to end anytime soon.
While the market is anyway dominated by the likes of Samsung, Sony, HTC and Apple, there are others who are also joining in on the race to determine how the market pans out before the end of the current year.
However, keeping rest of the world smartphone makers out of the context for the moment, it seems like both Indian and Chinese handset makers are doing quite the job of releasing phones at regular intervals. Needless to say, they have found a safe haven for that in the native smartphone market.
But again, in the modern day context, with a host of new phones flowing in almost everyday, two devices that have now caught our attention are the recently released Xioami Mi 3 and the new Micromax-made Canvas Knight Cameo A290.
So if we are to keep all others out of the contention and take both these handsets and pit them against each other in a comparison, who do you think will have the upper hand? We take closer look.

There's not much to choose from since both of them come running the Google-based Android operating system. However, the Micromax-made handset comes running the latest Android KitKat OS, compared to the Mi 3's dated Jelly Bean OS.

Micromax Canvas Knight Cameo A290 Vs Xiaomi Mi 3: Battery

Micromax Canvas Knight Cameo A290 Vs Xiaomi Mi 3: Price
While the Xiaomi Mi3 is set to be available at a price tag of Rs. 14,999, the Micromax Canvas Knight Cameo A290 is listed with a price tag of Rs. 11,490.
Micromax Canvas Knight Cameo A290 Vs Xiaomi Mi 3: Verdict
Both the handsets have their own set of reasons why users should opt for them. While Micromax looks to go on with its merry ways in the native market by being one of the top Indian makers, China's Xioami looks to capture that position as soon as possible.
However, if we are indeed to find out a winner among the two, we have to say that the Mi 3 scores above the Micromax-made handset. And although the new Canvas has a more potent processor and the latest Android OS, but that may not be enough to see off Mi 3 in this race. Especially with its MIUI interface.
