    Micromax, the leading tablet vendor in India, which is eyeing to become the the leading seller of smartphones too has quietly launched an Android smartphone in India. The new Micromax offering dubbed as Smarty A68 is priced at Rs 6,499 and is available on online retailer sites including Saholic and Flipkart.

    It is worth mentioning that Micromax has recently launched a slew of smartphones to its product portfolio in order to become the dominant smartphone vendor in the country. Lately, the company launched Smarty A25 at Rs 3,255 and A110 Canvas 2 at Rs 9,999, thereby extending its presence it all the categories of the smartphone arena.

    Talking about the specs of Smarty A68, the handset has the following specs and features.

    Display: Smarty A68 boasts a 4 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.

    Processor: The handset comes equipped with a 1GHz processor under its hood.

    OS: When it comes to OS, the handset is flavored with Android 4.0.4 ICS operating system.

    Camera: Being a budget smartphone, Smary A68 has a 5MP rear camera and lacks a front camera for video calling.

    Storage: On the storage front, the handset comes packed with 2GB internal storage, 512MB RAM and a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage.

    Connectivity: In terms of data connectivity, the handset has features including Wi-Fi, 2G, GPRS and Bluetooth.
