"The Canvas Selfie is an ideal smartphone for the selfie-obsessed users delivering fantastic images and equipping them with great beauty editing tools to look glamourous always," said Vineet Taneja, Chief Executive Officer, Micromax
On the software side, the Canvas Selfie runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Micromax has also packed in some new selfie-focused software features like Eye Enhancement; Face slimming; Skin Smoothening; Teeth Whitening; Remove Oil, among others.
The phone will be available in India from January second week. No pricing has yet been announced but, given the specifications, it is likely to be under Rs. 15,000.
Not too long ago, HTC unveiled the Desire Eye in an event held in New York. The selfie focused phone comes with dual-13MP cameras along with two-tone dual-LED flash.
The Desire Eye offers the same specs as the company's flagship - the HTC One (M8). This means that the handset is powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, a microSD card slot and a 2400mAh battery fitted inside.
