Micromax Unite 2 with Android 4.4 Launched at Rs 6,999: 10 Phones Ready for Tug-of-War

After the launch of Moto E, budget smartphone makers are trying to explore several new features and categories to maintain their presence in the market. Some are coming up with cheapest octa-core phone, some are experimenting with the market by introducing new gesture feature and more. On the same lines, India's leading mobile maker Micromax has also come up with a new budget phone which supports up to 20 Indian languages apart from English.

The new offering has been released in the market, named as Micromax Unite 2 A106 and it holds the same price tag as that of Moto E, which is Rs 6,999. Surprising thing is to counter the most talked about Motorola's phone, Micromax has also included Android Kitkat in Unite 2 and it will come power-packed with a quad core processor.

In the press release, Micromax said that Unite 2 has been launched with an aim to enable local customization to serve the unique needs of Indian consumers across multiple markets. "We aim to create a powerful medium for our consumers to interact, engage, entertain and connect in their preferred language to remove any barrier for technology adoption for the masses in the country."

Apart from Moto E, the new Unite 2 released by Micromax will also compete with other handset models selling like hot cakes in the lower market. Here below in the slider is the list of competitors waiting in the smartphone arena. Take a look. Already listed online via Infibeam for Rs. 6,911.

But before heading on to the rival devices, you might want to take a look at the specs sheet of Unite 2 A106, which comes with a 4.7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display.

Further, Micromax Unite 2 is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and it runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), which can also be upgraded to later versions of the OS. Imaging aspect is handled by a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash and 2MP front-facing shooter. Which is pretty decent in this price range.

The latest Unite 2 also houses 4GB internal memory which can be further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot. Connecitivty options include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. Additionally, it is a Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) handset with dual standby mode. It is powered by a 2000 mAh battery.
