Micromax Unite Anthem A290 Specs Leak in Zauba Listing: Coming on August 15?

Today, the company has come out with teaser video which hints that Micromax is planning to launch a new budget smartphone under its Unite series this Independence day (which is next week). The company has also used the hashtag in the YouTube video as #MicromaxUniteAnthem, which obviously justifies to be the official name of the soon-to-be-released handset. (UPDATE: Micromax contacted to inform us that Unite Anthem will not be the official name of the handset, rather it's just a hashtag given to the newly released song by the company for Independence day.)

When GizBot got this news, we couldn't resist to get in touch with our sources and finally we have come up with an exclusive piece of news at this hour just for our readers.

Yes, we have just got the confirmation from our sources that Micromax is all set to launch the long rumored octa core smartphone, dubbed as A290 on August 15th. At the same time, we also made the efforts to prove our report and checked Zauba, which tracks country's import and export.

There we found out that Micromax has imported around 17,000 units of A290 in India this week. The listing also revealed that it will be a Dual SIM handset and will sport a 4.7″ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display.

Further, in the listing Micromax A290 is price around Rs. 7,056, so we can expect the Micromax Unite Anthem A290 will hit the market for around Rs. 10,000.

If going by the earlier leaked reports, @MMXNewscaster revealed the specs of the upcoming handset in July 2014. The trusted leakster tweeted that Micromax A290 will come with 1.4 GHz octa core processor, Dual Sim, 3G network, 1 GB RAM and Android 4.4 Kitkat operating system

The same tweet also revealed that the device would tout an 8 Megapixel rear camera (LED flash), 5MP front camera and a 2010 mAh battery.
