Micromax is going big in the next few days with the launch of its first-ever Yu branded handset in the market. The most important and fresh fact about the phone is that it will run on the latest CyanogenMod. But it seems there's more than it meets the eye, especially with a new leak for the same.
If the latest leaks are to be believed, the newest Yu branded handset that will come from the manufacturer is actually set to be a re-branded version of Coolpad F2. And as you might make out, the company has found it better to rehash the old Chinese phone as a new Yu handset.
While everything here is to be taken with a pinch of salt, it seems like the first real piece of leak for the first Yu-branded handset might come as a major downer. And especially for those who are actually looking to get the first real taste of the official CyanogenMod.
As far as the Coolpad F2 is concerned, the handset actually comes in two different models. While one is powered by a MediaTek 1.7Ghz MT6592 octacore SoC, the other one is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.
"It can also be said the the Yu phone will carry a MT6795 SoC, as the MT6595 has pin-to-pin compatibility with each other, and also that MT6795 is a true octa core 64 bit SoC," the report for the same adds. However, we aren't sure which of these two the Yu handset will run.
Are you happy with the newest leak on the Micromax Yu? Should the company have been more imaginative with the handset? Let us know in the comments section below.
