Microsoft Sends Out Invites For April 7 Event in India, Lumia 640 And 640 XL Get Listed on Flipkart

    Earlier, Redmond giant Microsoft has officially pulled the cover off the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL back at the MWC 2015 (Mobile World Congress).

    Now, Microsoft is reportedly planning to launch both the Lumia devices in the Indian market on April 7. Moreover, the company has sent out the press invites to the media for April 7th event.

    The tagline in the invite says, "Inspiration doesn't only work 9 to 5!" along with the part of the device in orange color, which is expected to be the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL.

    At the same time the devices got listed last month itself on the import site Zauba which spilled the beans on the prices of the handset. As per the listing, Lumia 640 Dual SIM might come with a price tag of 4,683 ($75), while the Lumia 640 XL Dual SIM might have a price tag of Rs 6,710 ($107).

    Adding to that, more confirmation has come from India's leading e-commerce site Flipkart, which has listed that the device would be included in its April commission payouts under the exclusive category.

    If industry experts are to be believed this means that the Lumia 640 will be exclusively sold via the e-retailer, and that the device would be made available before the end of the month.

    Moving to the specification of the Microsoft Lumia 640XL, it sports a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels.

    It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 along with 1GB of RAM under the hood. This dual SIM mobile is powered by a 3000mAh battery and also supports NFC.

    Moreover, on the imaging factor, Lumia 640XL is equipped with 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front snapper on board.

    Running on Windows 8.1, it comes with 8GB of internal storage, with an expansion option of up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

    On the connectivity front, this device supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, DLNA, FM, Micro-USB along with some sensors like Compass/ Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor.

    Meanwhile on the other hand, Lumia 640 features a 5-inch HD display with 1280×720 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor alopng with 1GB RAM.

    The Lumia also features 8GB internal storage, which can be expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. And on the software front, it is shipped with Windows 8.1, which will be upgraded to Windows 10.

    Lumia 640 flaunts an 8MP rear camera, 0.9MP front snapper and supports connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, LTE support, NFC.

    According to the Windows Central, both the Microsoft Lumia devices will be available on Flipkart. Coming to the price points, the Lumia 640 is expected to be priced around Rs. 10,000.
