Microsoft Officially Pushes Out Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 for Nokia Lumia 930
If you are using a Nokia Lumia 930 handset, there's some good news for you. According to reports, Microsoft has announced it has started pushing out a new minor update for the handset that looks to fix a few issues in the phone.
As revealed by Microsoft, the latest software release for Nokia Lumia 930 is Lumia Cyan (02061.00066.14353.31xxx). And if you are infamiliar with the update, the version number shows that the company is now pushing Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 to all Lumia 930 devices.
"Many issues could be resolved just by updating your phone software, and you can get fresh new features and improved performance too," the official page for the same states.
"Your phone supports wireless Over the Air (OTA) updates and there is no need for cables or computer, just download and install the update using your phone. Also, your settings, apps, photos, and text messages remain safe and sound."
Although Microsoft has indeed confirmed that this is a minor update, there is a list of changes that are happening, according to the official changelog published by the company. These include improved stability & performance and imaging enhancements.
Apart from that, the new update specifically meant for the handset will also offer enriched display performance, Cortana support added for UK and China, Start screen folders, customizable snooze for alarm clock and other usability improvements.
It is important to keep in mind that the rollout will happen in phases, meaning not all Nokia Lumia 930 will receive the update at the same time. Also worth mentioning is that the availability of the update depends on country and carrier.
