Motorola and Intel September 18 Event Hints At Another Medfield Smartphone Launch
Way back in January 2012 at the Consumer Electronics Show, Motorola and Intel announced a multi-year, multi-device strategic partnership indicating that smartphones made by Motorola later this year will include the Intel Atom processors and Android platform.
This collaboration confirmed that the developments were not only restricted to smartphones, but they would also expand to tablet category, in which , the two tech giant will combine the Intel processor technology to deliver high performance and a longer battery life.
Adding more fuel to the news, a latest report has come from the end of folks at PhoneArena, which suggests that the relationship between the two companies have turned fruitful, reason being, US-based tech consumer goods manufacturer Motorola has sent out invites for a press event to be held on September 18, 2012 in London. Reportedly, the event is organized by Motorola along with Intel.
Further, the report adds on that the invitation does not reveal much about what one can expect from the event, except for the words “Let us take you to the edge”.
However, analysts are predicting that the duo manufacturers might come up with a Medfield smartphone, which was announced by the companies earlier this year.
As Intel has already debuted its Medfield smartphones range with Lava and Lenovo, rumors are rife that now the company will launch their new handset along with Motorola. The wording in the invitation and the “#motoedge” hashtag at the bottom suggest the device could be dubbed the Motorola Edge, however, nothing has been confirmed at this point.
