Motorola Mobility Announces Amit Boni as General Manager of India
In August 2012, US-based Motorola Mobility closed its operations in India, but now it looks like the company is back into action in the national ground. This can be said as in a recent development, it has been officially announced that Motorola Mobility has appointed Amit Boni as the company's general manager for India operations.
As informed to the media, Amit Boni will lead the team across the country and will be responsible for the company's GTM strategies moving further. "The India market is absolutely critical to Motorola and Amit's appointment into this role is testament to that," Magnus Ahlqvist, Corporate Vice-President, EMEA and APAC at Motorola Mobility, said in the statement.

On the appointment, Mr. Amit said,"I see tremendous opportunity for Motorola in India. My focus is now on growing the business, continuing to delight Indian consumers with our products and strengthening our customer support system further for all buyers in India. We are building the Motorola business for the long term and I'm excited about what the future holds."
Earlier this year, Motorola re-entered the market with the successful launch of the Moto G. Soon after the company released the Moto X, a mid-range handset. Both phones have been made available in India through Flipkart. Motorola's most successful smartphone has been its mid-range and inexpensive Moto G. Priced at Rs. 12,499, the Moto G has been the highest-selling Motorola-made smartphone till date. In coming days to come, Motorola could announce updated version of Moto G in select markets.
