Motorola is launching the MT917 smartphone soon. Tech journals claim that this is basically the latest version or the Droid Razr. From the released images, it appears to have class beating style, packaging and performance. The company claims this model basically performs the tasks of a personal assistant - managing calls, providing access to documents and the calendar, ensuring you have access to all the information you need round-the-clock.

Motorola MT917 is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread-running smartphone and provides stunning performance from its 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM. High 3G speeds are of course onboard. Performance talks and Motorola believes this could make MT917 a breakthrough product in terms of innovation and sales.

There are rumors though, that Motorola could soon equip MT917 with Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. This is something everyone is looking forward to, and Motorola would only be doing itself favors if it announces anything along the lines soon.

Better multimedia enjoyment in MT917 is ensured by the 4.5-inch screen offering an excellent resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The 330-pixels per inch resolution ensure that watching movies will be totally unlike what you’d experience on a portable handset. It comes with a 13-megapixel camera with 1080p video capture too which the company claims will help you take pictures of cinematic quality.

Versatility is one of the other themes of Motorola MT917. The “webtop” application introduced by Motorola is supported by this phone. This enables users to connect the smartphone to an external monitor, use the full-screen browser and USB peripherals, and access smartphone applications simultaneously.

This lends a new dimension to multitasking. For long hours, MT917 also features great battery life. Users’ need for apps is fully taken care of through access to great app stores that provide a wide variety of applications catering to various needs.

There’s something else Motorola MT917 excels in, and that’s rock solid build. It is designed for long and hard use, for which Motorola has ensured the hardware is well protected. The entire body is protected by Kevlar fiber. The handset has a sturdy zinc frame and splash guard coating all around. The screen is also shielded from scratches with Corning Gorilla Glass.

All these features have not compromised on the MT917’s style though. It is really slim at 8.5mm and has an attractively designed body, with the rear especially attractive with a diagonal design pattern and the Motorola logo at the centre.

Motorola MT917 is to be launched mid-December 2011 in China, though it could later find its way to international markets including India. Motorola has not released the price of the handset yet in India.
