Motorola to Open Manufacturing Unit in India
According to a recent report from the Economic Times, the Lenovo-owned mobile maker Motorola is thinking on lines to manufacture phones in India.
The company is planning on this move, to make India one of the largest markets globally.
Also reportedly, the company will consider both owned and third-party manufacturing and reportedly studying the "Make in India" policy of the current government.
While other smartphone manufacturers like Sony, Xiaomi and Gionee are already considering local manufacturing in India, these companies are planning to start their plans in the upcoming days.
