Motorola is having a hard time these days. The new owner – Google, is not very impressed with the future lineup. So, what exactly Motorola will do to make into the top. The answer could be in the form of aping Samsung or even Sony, to secure its future. The iconic American brand behind Moto RAZR fame is set to announce Motorola X: a series of handsets running on Google Android. Until now, it was known that Motorola X stands for a premium handset that could rival Samsungs and LGs in the hardware tally.
Undoubtedly, Motorola is still known for its hardware, and only hardware. As per AndroidandMe( via Unwired View), Motorola is prepared to shake smartphone market with series of Android running handsets under one umbrella – Motorola X The Software giant is miffed with Samsung’s growing ambitions.
So, Google is likely to be the brain behind Motorola X series. It is said that Google has plans to unveil first batch of handsets to be introduced under Motorola X brand at Google I/O 2013. Tentatively, June shipment date is expected by many tech pundits. The so –called Motorola X lineup would be made available through retailers as well as from Google Play.

If you are familiar with Dell online store, where you can make your own hardware based on set choices given in the same way one can customize Motorola X series devices. So, this could mean that you can choose your own processor or in-built RAM to make perfect Motorola X phone.
It is also being said that there will be an option of uploading custom wallpapers, apps and contacts before the handset arrives. It is speculated that customers can easily switch from one carrier to another, if they own Motorola X series based handsets.
