A new Samsung Galaxy J series smartphone pops up in benchmark listings
The new smartphone goes by the model no SM-J720F and as per benchmarks, is backed by Exynos 7885 chipset and runs Android 8.0 Oreo
A new Samsung smartphone has been spotted on benchmark listings with codename- SM-J720F. The smartphone appeared on Geekbench and GFXBench and is likely to replace the Galaxy J7 (2017), which was announced in June 2017. The benchmark listings give some important insights about the handset in discussion.
As per the gfxbench's listing, the new Samsung smartphone is backed by Exynos 7885 chipset and runs Android 8.0 Oreo. Exynos 7885 chipset is an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.59 GHz and is accompanied with ARM Mali G-71 GPU. The new smartphone will have 4GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory. In the display department, the new Galaxy J series handset shows a 5.5-inch screen with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels).
The listing also reveals camera specifications. As per the records, the smartphone will sport a 12 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front-facing shooter. Both the cameras will have the ability to shoot videos in Full HD resolution. The cameras will have HDR, autofocus, face detection and touch focus.
Samsung Galaxy J8 (2018) can be announced soon in the mid-range smartphone segment. We might get to see a glimpse of the handset in the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2018. Besides, Samsung is also expected to showcase the much awaited Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus in the upcoming MWC. It is said that the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will cost more than the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus are said to be powered by either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor or the newly launched Samsung Exynos 9810 processor depending on the region.
Samsung has recently launched two new smartphones in the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 32,999, Samsung Galaxy A8+ has been launched in upper mid-range Android smartphone segment. The Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime is mid-range handset with a starting price of Rs. 12,990 for the 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage variant.
