Alcatel Idol 5 bundled with Uni 360 VR headset to be launched in the US

Alcatel Idol 5 smartphone has 2GB of RAM along with MediaTek Helio P20 processor and 32GB inbuilt storage. The device has 12-megapixel rear camera and 8MP front camera.

Alcatel Idol 5 smartphone was unveiled at the IFA Berlin 2017. The brand is now ready to release the smartphone in the US with a few upgrades in the specifications. The device will be released on October 27th alongside a new VR headset which has been branded as Uni360. The device will be available in the US only through one service provider which is Cricket Wireless.

Alcatel Idol 5 boasts a 5.2-inch HD display. It is powered by MediaTek Helio P20 chipset which is coupled with 2GB of RAM. The internal storage on the device is 32GB. As far as the cameras of the smartphone are concerned, the front snapper is equipped with 8-megapixel sensor whereas the rear camera gets a 12-megapixel sensor. The smartphone has a USB Type-C port and the smartphone's battery supports fast charging.

The specifications are not that great however it comes for an attractive price of $199 (approx. Rs. 13,000).

The US launched Alcatel Idol 5 is different from the EU version. The differences include dual speakers on the device along with the Alcatel's launch button that allows users to access customizable functions.

Alcatel is also relying on the Uni 360 VR headset to boost the sale of the smartphone. Uni360 comes for a price of $49.99(approx. Rs. 3,200) but is bundled up with Idol 5 for no extra cost. The headset works with any smartphone that has a 5-inch or 6-inch screen size. The Uni360 has an interesting feature that allows users to activate a phone's camera, so users can see through to the real world around them.
