Alcatel Idol 5 image, specs and pricing leaked ahead of launch

Chinese company Alcatel is expected to launch a bunch of smartphones at the upcoming IFA 2017. The Alcatel Idol 5 is rumored to be among one of them.

The smartphone has already received the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certification. Now, the website WinFuture has revealed some of the keys specs Alcatel phone along with an image of the smartphone. Its pricing has been tipped as well. Going by the report, the Alcatel Idol 5 will arrive with a 5.2-inch IPS full HD display with the resolution of 1080×1920 pixels.

Under the hood, the smartphone is said to be powered by an Octa-core MediaTek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The chipset will be paired with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of default storage capacity. The storage space is further expandable via a microSD card.

On the optics front, the Alcatel Idol 5 is likely to feature a 16MP rear-facing main camera as well as an 8MP front camera for selfies. The device is said to be backed up by a 2,800mAH battery unit. In addition, the smartphone is also shown featuring a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

As for the pricing, the source claims the Alcatel Idol 5 will be sold be for €399, which is approximately Rs. 30,140.

To remind you, the smartphone was previously spotted on benchmark site GFXBench with slightly different specs and features. For example, the GFXBench listing revealed the chipset inside the Alcatel Idol 5 will be running at 2.0GHz. Also, the internal memory will be of 32GB instead of 16GB. Talking about photography, the primary camera of the device was listed as 12MP.
