Alcatel U5 HD with Android Nougat, 8MP selfie camera with flash launched in India

The smartphone comes in two color options: Metallic Black and Metallic Gold.

Alcatel has just launched a new budget smartphone in India. Dubbed as the Alcatel U5 HD, it comes at an attractive price of Rs. 5,999.

The smartphone comes in two color options: Metallic Black and Metallic Gold. It will be available for purchase exclusively on Flipkart starting from midnight today. As far as the specs are concerned, the Alcatel U5 HD comes with decent enough specs given the price range. With just days away from Diwali, the company has chosen the perfect time to launch its latest offering.

Design and Display

Despite being a budget smartphone, the Alcatel U5 HD flaunts a metallic Black and metallic Gold finish which gives it a super-premium look. The device weighs at 129.5g and it measures at 141.8×71.4×8.95 mm.

The Alcatel U5 HD features a 5-inch HD IPS display with the screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels.

Under the hood

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a quad-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6737 processor running at 1.25GHz. The chipset is paired with Mali-T720 GPU on top.

The smartphone's memory aspect is taken care of by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage. The storage is further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card.

Keeping the lights on is a rather small 2,200mAh battery. However, the battery size should be enough considering the phone's 5-inch display.

Cameras

Talking about the optics department, the device adorns a 13MP rear-facing primary camera with LED flash. Likewise, there is an 8MP front-facing camera which also is accompanied by a flash.

What's more, the Alcatel U5 HD comes with in-built apps to create instant collages just by selecting pictures from their gallery.
