Alleged Meizu X2 renders show a circular secondary display at the rear

Meizu has been launching several new smartphones since the debut of this year. Now, it looks like the company is working on a new smartphone that has been spotted at the Chinese patent office.

Well, the unnamed smartphone from Meizu's stable is likely to be the Meizu X2. A new set of renders of this smartphone leaked by Slashleaks have hit the web adding credibility to the previous rumors and leaks. The device has made its way to the patent office as it boasts of a new design. In addition to the design, the renders also show the schematics of the smartphone.

We say it has a new design as the Meizu X2 seems to be quite different from the other Meizu phones those were launched in the market until now. There appears to be a secondary display on the Meizu X2 as we have seen on the company's Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus. However, the difference is that the display appears to feature a circular design and positioned in the middle of the back panel. Also, the rumors claim that the secondary display on the X2 might not be as functional as the one on the Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus as it can display only the time, battery status and a few notifications.

This makes sense as the Meizu X2 is believed to belong to the mid-range Blue Charm series. The device appears to feature a curved edge design and the rear camera is seen to be positioned just above the display at the rear. Up front, there seem to be thick bezels and the selfie camera at the top. The renders show the USB Type-C port as well on the Meizu X2.

As of now, there is no information on when the Meizu X2 smartphone will be released but we can expect the launch to happen in the next year.
