Apple Event: iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max Launched in India: Check Price, Specs, Availability

Apple has officially unveiled its flagship iPhone models for 2023. The iPhone 15 series brings four new smartphones to the fray including the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

iPhone 15 Pricing, Availability in India

The iPhone 15 Pro price in India starts from Rs 1,34,900 for the base 128GB model. The iPhone 15 will also be offered in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configurations that will set you back Rs 1,44,900, Rs 1,64,900, and Rs 1,84,900, respectively.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max price in India is set at Rs 1,59,900 for the base 256GB variant. The iPhone 15 Pro Max will also be offered in 512GB and 1TB configurations that will set you back Rs 1,79,900 and Rs 1,99,900, respectively.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max pre-orders in India will start at 05:30 pm (IST) on September 15, while shipping will commence from September 22.

iPhone 15 Pro Performance

The iPhone 15 Pro is powered by a new A17 Pro chipset, which Apple says is the fastest chip on a smartphone to date. Apple claims that the new chip will challenge some high-end PCs. The A17 Pro SoC features the "biggest redesign in the history of Apple GPUs".

The new GPU features 6 cores and is 20% faster than its predecessor. The GPU also enables more energy efficient and 4x faster hardware accelerated ray tracing. This will enable the iPhone 15 Pro to run titles never seen on a smartphone, like Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, Death Stranding, and Assassin's Creed Mirage.

iPhone 15 Pro Cameras

The iPhone 15 Pro features a second-gen 48 MP primary camera sensor with an f/1.78 aperture and next-gen Sensor Shift OIS. The 48 MP sensor is bigger than the one used on the iPhone 14 Pro with 1.22µm pre-binned pixels.

The main camera on the iPhone 15 Pro allows you to capture 48MP HEIF images alongside 48MP ProRAW. The larger sensor also allows for 28mm, 35mm, and 48mm digital zoom mode. The other cameras on the iPhone 15 Pro include a 12 MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 12 MP telephoto unit.

Up front, the iPhone 15 Pro features a TrueDepth camera with an f/1.9 aperture. The iPhone 15 Pro can also capture 4K60 ProRes video. The 15 Pro can capture "spatial video," which is the type of 3D content we've been seeing for the Vision Pro.

iPhone 15 Pro Display, Design

The iPhone 15 Pro sports a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. The display uses ProMotion technology for an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. The iPhone 15 Pro also retains the Dynamic Island and Always-on Display features from the iPhone 14 Pro models. The panel also boasts a peak brightness of 2,000 nits.

The iPhone 15 Pro is the first iPhone to feature an aerospace-grade titanium construction that is strong yet lightweight. Apple says the iPhone 15 Pro lineup is "built to last, combining the strength of titanium with the toughest back glass in a smartphone and the industry-leading Ceramic Shield on the front."

The iPhone 15 Pro models are offered in Natural Titanium, Blue Titanium, White Titanium, and Black Titanium shades. It also comes with the standard IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The iPhone 15 Pro also comes with a new Action Button instead of the standard mute switch, which can be customised to run shortcuts.

iPhone 15 Pro Battery

Like the vanilla iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Pro will also feature USB Type-C charging with USB 3.0 speeds. This will enable data transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps. The iPhone 15 Pro also support the Qi2 standard, which offers faster wireless charging speeds and MagSafe charging.

Apple has confirmed that the iPhone 15 Pro will deliver all-day battery life. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro uses a 100 percent recycled aluminium substructure and 100 percent recycled cobalt in the battery.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Specifications

The iPhone 15 Pro Max features a larger 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with the same specs as the iPhone 15 Pro. Additionally, the larger capacity cell will offer improved battery life over the iPhone 15 Pro. However, the main difference lies in the camera system.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max replaces the telephoto camera for an improved 12 MP Periscope camera, which is claimed to offer up to 5x optical zoom at 120mm focal length. The rest of the specifications and features of the iPhone 15 Pro Max are the same as the iPhone 15 Pro.
