Apple Foldable iPhone to Enter Production in Late 2025, Launch Tipped for 2026
Apple's much-anticipated foldable iPhone has been talk of the town for a while. Rumors suggest the Cupertino-based tech giant is more likely to follow the path of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold with its first foldable iPhone.
Now, the latest development brings new updates regarding its production, launch timeline, and more. Here's what it suggests -

Apple Foldable iPhone to Enter Production in Late 2025
The latest info comes to light via Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has shared insights regarding the launch timeline, design, and production of the Foldable iPhone. According to Kuo, Apple's assembly supplier Foxconn is expected to officially kick off the production of the foldable iPhone by late September or early October 2025, while the launch could take place in September 2026, most likely alongside the iPhone 18 series.
While many component specifications are still being finalised, the foldable display appears to be locked in. Samsung Display (SDC) is reportedly preparing to manufacture 7-8 million foldable panels annually in anticipation of the device's launch in 2026.
Rumours also suggest Apple has placed an order for 15-20 million units, which Kuo believes represents cumulative demand across the device's expected 2-3 year lifecycle rather than for 2026 alone. This implies the foldable iPhone, expected to enter mass production in the second half of 2026, may see steady annual shipments through 2027 and 2028, likely for its premium pricing. The foldable iPhone could be priced between $2,000 and $2,500 (Rs 1,73,190 to Rs 2,16,487).
Apple Foldable iPhone - What to Expect?
The Apple Foldable iPhone is expected to sport a 5.5-inch screen when closed and a 7.8-inch screen when opened. Moreover, the device is rumoured to come with under-display cameras and use Touch ID instead of Face ID. It could measure around 4.5mm when unfolded and 9-9.5mm when folded.
