Apple India now honors warranty on iPhones purchased from abroad
Apple’s international warranty is now available on iPhones purchased from any market around the globe. Earlier it was restricted to MacBook, iPad and iPods.
Apple has a good news for consumers in India, which is possibly the most awaited update Apple fans were waiting for. The Cupertino giant has announced that the company will now honor international warranty on its most popular product- the Apple iPhones. What this means is that you can now purchase an iPhone, even the most recent ones- iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X from global markets and can avail one year Apple warranty in India. Earlier, the same international warranty was applicable to MacBooks, iPads and iPods.
It is worth mentioning that the warranty will only be applicable to the factory unlocked versions of the iPhones. Sadly, the carrier-locked models will not come under the umbrella of Apple's international warrant, even if you manage to unlock the iPhone from third party sources. Another important thing to understand here is that, the terms and conditions might be different if you purchase an iPhone from US and relocate from India to any other country, per se Dubai. The international warranty terms and standards might differ from market to market.
Nonetheless, this is good news for Apple fans in India with friends and family living in US or any other international market that can get them new or previous iPhones. Apple's official service centers in India will now honor warranties of those iPhones purchased from the international market while they are under warranty. Until now, you were asked to pay the full amount of any possible damage or servicing of your iPhones purchased from abroad. The new Apple policy is undoubtedly a big relief for Indian consumers.
As noted, Apple has recently announced three new iPhone models. The iPhone X, the tenth-anniversary edition of iPhone was unveiled alongside the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus at an event in California in September.
While iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are already available in India, the pre-orders for iPhone X will debut on October 27. iPhone X will be priced at Rs. 89,000 and Rs. 1,02,000 in India for the 64GB and 128GB variants. Apple iPhone 8 is priced at Rs. 64,000 and Rs. 77,000, while the iPhone 8 Plus sells at Rs. 73,000 and Rs. 86,000 in India.
