Apple rolled out the iOS 11 update in the last week. Within a week, almost 30% of the Apple devices were updated to the latest iteration of the OS. Despite the fast adoption rate, there was a slew of issues with the OS.
After a week, Apple has rolled out the first incremental update - iOS 11.0.1 that is a minor update focused on bug fixes and improvements. It does not bring about new features to the Apple devices. As shown by a tweet posted by Edward Behan, the update measures around 280MB and the changelog to show what will be changed with this update remains unknown.

The description of the iOS 11.0.1 reads, "iOS 11.0.1 includes bug fixes and improvements for your iPhone or iPad." In order to install the iOS 11.0.1 OTA update, you need to head on to Settings → General → Software Update. Make sure your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network and that the battery is at least 50% charged before you update to iOS 11.0.1.
Going by the Apple support documentation, the update will resolve the Exchange email server issue. Though there will be no new feature added, this iOS 11.0.1 will ensure that your iOS device runs smooth. The update does not include any new security patch as well.

With the iOS 11 update, iPhone and iPad users were experiencing connectivity issues, weird battery drain, installation issues with downloads getting stuck in between and issues with the installation of applications. The iOS 11.0.1 is aimed at fixing most of these issues those were brought by the iOS 11 update.
Given that this is the first incremental upgrade to iOS 11, we will get many more in the future that will add promised features such as Apple Pay Cash, Apple Pay support in Messages and more. The future updates will also add the new emoji characters to the iOS 11 keyboard and the 3D Touch App Switcher Gesture.
