Apple iOS 17 Update Reported to Pack User-Requested Features
Apple's upcoming iOS 17 update will reportedly pack a lot of "nice to have" features. In a new leak, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has reported that Apple has modified its plans for iOS 17 in its development phase and will now pack some "requested features".
Gurman explains in his blog that Apple's initial strategy with iOS 17 had been to focus on "fixing bugs and improving performance than adding new features".

He added that a reason for this was to avoid making the same mistakes as with iOS 16. The iOS 16 update apparently was an ambitious project that suffered from several bugs and missed deadlines.
While the company began development of iOS 17 keeping these learnings of iOS 16 in mind, the company apparently decided to change its strategy and add a few requested features in.
Codenamed "Dawn", the iOS 17 is expected to be showcased at Apple's Developer's Conference in June and will thereafter be rolled out a few months later.
Gunman writes in his blog that the update will "check off several of users' most requested features" and may include features such as a next-generation CarPlay, support for Apple's mixed reality headset and possibly modifications to Siri among others.
However, we will know more details about the new features of iOS 17 as more updates emerge.
Apple rolled out iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4 beta in January this year. Back then, Gunman had reported that Apple's upcoming iOS 17 update will not be as significant as other past updates as Apple's focus was more towards its much-awaited mixed-reality headset.
Apple's mixed reality headset is also likely to launch at the company's Developer's Conference this June. With its purported launch not far away, the company recently gathered its top executive to demonstrate its high-profiled mixed-reality headset.
Apple has reportedly high hopes from its headset, and it is hopeful that the headset will have the same kind of success as the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
