Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max has the second-best cameras on a smartphone, according to DxOMark

The iPhone 15 series was recently unveiled in India and globally. The Cupertino-based tech giant unveiled four new iPhones in the line-up, including the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

And now, the results are in. According to DxOMark, the iPhone 15 Pro Max features the second-best cameras on a smartphone. To recall, the iPhone 15 Pro Max features a new telephoto periscope camera as opposed to the traditional telephoto camera on the iPhone 15 Pro. iPhone 15 Pro Max Review on DxOMark

The iPhone 15 Pro Max managed an overall camera score of 154 points on DxOMark, falling just two points short of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro, which sits on 156 points. For comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro Max managed an overall DxOMark score of 146 points and ranks 9th on the list.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max managed the highest scores in both the Bokeh and Video categories. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max scored 153 points in Photo, 142 points in Zoom, and 86 points in Preview.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera Specifications

The iPhone 15 Pro features a second-gen 48 MP primary camera sensor with an f/1.78 aperture and next-gen Sensor Shift OIS. The 48 MP sensor is bigger than the one used on the iPhone 14 Pro with 1.22µm pre-binned pixels.

The main camera on the iPhone 15 Pro allows you to capture 48MP HEIF images alongside 48MP ProRAW. The larger sensor also allows for 28mm, 35mm, and 48mm digital zoom mode. The other cameras on the iPhone 15 Pro include a 12 MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 12 MP telephoto unit.

Up front, the iPhone 15 Pro features a TrueDepth camera with an f/1.9 aperture. The iPhone 15 Pro can also capture 4K60 ProRes video.
