Documents from a South Korean carrier suggest a new telephoto camera capable of up to 8X optical zoom. This aligns with previous rumours from July regarding similar sensor upgrades.

The iPhone 16 Pro (Review) and iPhone 16 Pro Max currently feature a 48-megapixel telephoto lens with up to 5x optical zoom capabilities. The anticipated upgrade in the iPhone 17 series could significantly enhance users' photography experiences by offering greater zoom capabilities.

Thermal Management Advancements

Another significant upgrade is expected in terms of heat dissipation. Reports indicate that the iPhone 17 Pro models may introduce a new vapour chamber cooling system. This system disperses heat away from CPU and GPU components using a vacuum-sealed component containing liquid as a passive heat spreader.
