No More Plus, Enter the iPhone 17 Air

Apple is keeping its four-model lineup, but there’s a twist. The iPhone 17 Plus is reportedly gone, replaced by a new model called the iPhone 17 Air. This shift signals Apple’s move away from bigger phones toward thinner, sleeker ones.

Here’s how the lineup looks:

  • iPhone 17: The base model could finally get a 120Hz OLED display, some fresh colors, upgraded cameras, and Apple’s new A19 chip.
  • iPhone 17 Air: Expected to measure just 5.5 mm, this would be Apple’s thinnest iPhone to date. It features a taller 6.6-inch screen, a titanium frame, and a single 48MP rear camera. Reports suggest it will run on the A19 Pro chip, though with reduced GPU cores to manage heat in the slim design.
  • iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max: These premium models may switch to lighter aluminum frames, bring ProMotion OLED panels, and use the more powerful A19 Pro chip. Both are rumored to include new 48MP cameras, while the Pro Max could pack a bigger battery to balance performance demands.

Three New Apple Watches

The iPhone won’t be the only headline tonight. Apple is also expected to refresh its smartwatch lineup.

The Apple Watch Series 11 will likely be the mainstream upgrade, the Watch Ultra 3 will target outdoor and performance enthusiasts, and the Watch SE 3 will remain the more affordable choice.

AirPods Pro 3 with a Health Angle

After three years, Apple’s premium earbuds are due for a refresh. The AirPods Pro 3 are rumored to include health-tracking features such as heart-rate monitoring, a temperature sensor, and even hearing tests. A new H3 chip could power these upgrades, making them more than just a pair of earbuds.

iOS 26 and Beyond

Apple’s software rollouts usually follow quickly after the hardware announcements. iOS 26 with the Liquid Glass UI is expected to ship with the iPhone 17 series and reach older devices around September 16.
