The name game
It is being speculated that the new iPhones will essentially be upgraded versions in the iPhone 6 series, and will retain the design and most of the features of the current gen iPhones. Hence, these will get an additional ‘S' in the name, to be called iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, to represent traits of Apple's iPhone 6 series.

As per the attest report by the 9to5Mac, the upcoming iPhones will be based on identical design to the current iPhone 6. So, we will get a similar back panel design, with almost same thickness, size and even the placement of ports. The company will even retain the same Space Gray color.
Different internal design
Though the upcoming iPhones are believed to come with similar exteriors, they will differ in the internal structure. As per a recent report, there are many small changes made inside the iPhone 6S frame, including changes in the mounting points for the new logic board and components.
Pressure sensitive display
The new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are rumored to feature Force Touch, pressure-sensitive display, which have earlier been seen on the Watch and MacBook as well. This will be one of the key features in the upcoming smartphones.
Processor
A new report revealed that the iPhone 6s will be powered by a Qualcomm MDM9635M chip also referred to the 9X35 Gobi modem platform to boost the performance. The current gen iPhone 6 and 6S Plus are powered by 9X25. With this improved Qualcomm LTE Modem inside, the next gen iPhones are expected to support faster download speeds and will be more efficient.
Camera
Rumors have it that the new iPhones will get a bump in camera department, and might get two-lens system to produce DSLR-quality images. Though it is still unclear if Apple iPhone 6s would actually come with a two-lens set up, you can expect a 12MP snapper with support for 4K video recording and 240 FPS slow-motion capabilities.
Storage
The reports around the logic board on the unannounced iPhones suggest 2GB of RAM. Speaking of the internal storage, the base model of the new line of iPhones is expected to come with 16GB of in-built memory, apart from the 64GB and 128GB higher priced variants.
