The stage is all set and the most advanced iPhone will launch in a few days from now. Apple has already started sending the official invites and the big date is September 12, 2017. And while everyone is drooling over the upcoming iPhone 8, we have some really interesting to share with you.
As per a report on The Investor, the next iPhone will be lunched in two variants sporting big OLED displays, possibly one with 5.85-inch dimension and the other with even bigger 6.44-inch footprint. The report further mentions that Apple has already started the development of a 6-inch OLED with aims to launch the largest-ever screen on Apple iPhone for the year 2018.
Samsung Display is said to be the sole supplier of OLED panels and the duo has already started working on the project. Interestingly, the upcoming iPhone 8 is also said to sport a big 5.85-inch OLED screen.
If you are wondering what good a big screen will do to Apple iPhones, which are known for their ergonomic and compact form factors, Apple plans to cut down the bezels completely to keep the overall size in check. The current big-screen Apple device- the iPhone 7 Plus has been criticized widely for its larger footprint making it difficult for one-hand usage. Needless to say, Apple has to make the required changes in design to cope up with the competition.
Coming back on the upcoming Apple iPhone 8, the Cupertino giant is set to launch iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus on September 12. The launch event will be held at the Steve Jobs theater which is located on Apple's campus. The device will be launched in three different storage variants. The highest version will reportedly carry a whopping 512GB of internal storage space. The iPhone 8 will be the first iPhone to feature an OLED display with full-screen design and wireless charging support.
