Apple iPhone SE 4 Could Get a New 48MP Rear Camera and an OLED Display: Report
Apple's iPhone SE 4, anticipated for March 2025, is set to receive significant updates. According to a report from South Korea, the device will feature a 48-megapixel rear camera and an OLED display. This information adds to previous rumours about the upcoming model's enhancements.
LG Innoteck and LG Display are reportedly involved in supplying components for the iPhone SE 4. LG Innoteck, which previously only provided the rear camera for the iPhone SE 3, will now supply both front and rear cameras for the new model. Mass production of these camera modules has commenced at LG Innoteck's facility in Vietnam.

Camera Specifications and Suppliers
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to have a single rear sensor with a resolution of 48 megapixels, matching the size of the iPhone 16's Fusion camera. The front camera is said to feature a 12-megapixel sensor, aligning with the resolution of the iPhone 16's front shooter. There is speculation that Face ID might replace Touch ID in this model.
Foxconn and Cowell Electronics from China are also part of the supply chain for the camera module. Despite these advancements, due to cost considerations, existing components may be used instead of developing new ones specifically for this range.
Display Details and Production
The screen of the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be a 6.1-inch low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) panel, similar in construction to that of the iPhone 13. LG Display has started mass production of these screens but will not be the sole supplier.
China's BOE is also working on producing OLED screens for this model and may secure a substantial portion of orders. Sources indicate that LG Display will contribute between 25% and 35% of these display panels.
This isn't the first time rumours have surfaced about a 48MP sensor for Apple's devices; however, this report provides more credible details than previous ones. The involvement of multiple suppliers highlights Apple's strategy to diversify its supply chain while ensuring quality components for its products. The upcoming changes in Apple's iPhone SE series reflect ongoing efforts to enhance features while maintaining affordability.
