Apple iPhone8 and 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition now available in India
Apple has launched its iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus models in Red edition in India on April 27. The company had a partnership with (RED) and has raised money to support HIV/AIDS programs.
Cupertino tech giant Apple introduces the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in red colour variants last year, as a support to the Global Fund which was raising money to fight against the life-threatening disease HIV/AIDS. Unlike Apple, not all manufacturers come up with red phones as a part of their CSR (corporate social responsibility) initiative.
Android manufacturers like Oppo, Vivo and even OnePlus followed the red trend and came up with Red versions of their devices to increase their sales.
Now once again in 2018, Apple has launched its iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus models in Red edition in India on April 27. The company had a partnership with (RED) and has raised money to support HIV/AIDS programs, which provides counselling, testing, and medicine which prevents HIV transmission from a mother to her unborn child. Interestingly, Apple is taking part in this job since last 11 year, which is actually appreciable.
Apple claims that they have raised over $160 million with the sales of it (RED) products. Basically, when you buy a device or product which is RED, from that purchase Apple sends a contribution to the Global Fund.
The Global Fund use that money to finance HIV/AIDS programs. The contribution helps HIV affected people in Ghana, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Kenya, and Zambia. So if you want to do something for them and want a fancy Red color iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus then you can do it
Apple iPhone 8 and 8 Plus comes with a Red-back panel which is quite different from the one which is there on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus (Product) Red. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus support wireless charging and they have a glass back panels.
The new RED products are deeper in colour as well when compared to the earlier Red editions by Apple. One good thing is that the black front panel on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.
So, you If you buy a normal iPhone 8 or 8 Plus you usually get a white front on these devices. But if you want a black front then have to switch to the iPhone 8 and 8 plus (Product) Red.
Red variants will be slightly expensive than a normal one.
iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus RED Special Edition will be available in 64GB and 256GB starting at Rs 67,940.
