Apple iPhones get costlier in India; find out the new pricing of iPhone X, iPhone 8 and more

Only the iPhone SE's price remains unchanged as the handset is locally assembled.

Apple has increased the price of all iPhone models in India, except for the iPhone SE. This move comes just after the Indian government raised the custom duty on mobile devices from 15 percent to 20 percent in the Union Budget 2018. The prices of the iPhones have been raised by almost 3 percent. Apple has already announced the price hike, and the new prices will come into effect starting from today.

As stated, only the iPhone SE's price remains unchanged as the handset is locally assembled. A recent report claimed that Apple is planning to start manufacturing iPhone 6s in India soon. While we are yet to receive an official confirmation, if the report is legit then the increased custom duty will not affect the iPhone 6's price. In any case, the iPhones that will be costlier than before include the iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Other than that, the Apple Watch Series 3 is now retailing at a starting price of Rs. 32,380 up from the previous price of Rs. 29,900. Notably, the Cupertino-giant had increased the price of its products in December too when the custom duty on mobile phones were increased from 10 percent to 15 percent.

iPhone X

The iPhone X was launched at the starting price of Rs. 89,000, but its price was increased to Rs. 92,430 after the government increased the custom duty in December.

After the latest hike, the handset is now available at Rs. 95,390 for the 64GB variant. Whereas the 256GB model was previously retailing at Rs.1,05,720 and it is now priced at Rs 1,08,930.

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

The 64GB variant of the iPhone 8 now costs Rs. 67,940 in India, up from its previous price of Rs. 66,120. While the 256GB model costs Rs. 81,500, up from the earlier price of Rs. 79,420.

Coming the iPhone 8 Plus, the 64GB variant of the smartphone now costs around Rs. 77,560 and the 256GB variant costs Rs. 91,110. The variants were previously retailing at Rs. 75,450 and Rs. 88,750 respectively.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

The iPhone 7 is now available at a starting price of Rs. 52,370 of for the 32GB variant, up from its previous price of Rs. 50,810. The 128GB variant of the phone is now priced at Rs. 61,560 while it was retailing at Rs. 59,910 before.

On the other hand, the iPhone 7 Plus is now priced at Rs. 62,840 and Rs. 72,060 for the 32GB and 128GB variants respectively.
