Apple to rollout iOS 11.3: Things to remember before you update
Apple has a new update for its devices.
Apple will soon be rolling out the new version its mobile operating system -- iOS 11.3. The company will also unveil the new operating system at its annual developer's conference - WWDC. But before that, you'll have to upgrade your Apple devices to the upcoming update.
Compatibility
The new iOS 11.3 will be available for the following devices: Pad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad Pro, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4, iPod touch 6th, iPhone 5s, iPhone SE, iPhone 6/6 Plus, iPhone 6s/6s Plus, iPhone 7/7 Plus, iPhone 8/8 Plus, iPhone X.
If you are someone who uses the iPhone 5, 5C or the iPad 4, then this update isn't for you. Which also means that these will be the last devices to support iOS 11.
Backup
Before updating your Apple device, always remember that things can go south on you resulting in loss of data. A lot of iOS launches in the past have suffered from the bug plague.
So keep in mind to take backup of the data before you trigger the update. You can either create a local backup using iTunes, or backup to iCloud by going to Settings > iCloud > Backup, and then turning on iCloud Backup.
What about iOS 10?
If you haven't updated your device to iOS 11 and still running the dated iOS 10, then sadly it's time find an alternative. Soon all 32-bit iOS apps will be shut and users will be left with no other option than to upgrade.
Users can check installed apps for compatibility using the checker tool (only for iOS 10.3 or later). You just have to go to Settings > General > About > Applications. It will show all the 32-bit apps running on your iPhone or iPad that won't support the iOS 11.3.
WWDC
Apple has also announced that the registrations for its upcoming WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) 2018 developer conference are now open. The company's five-day-long keynote presentation will start on June 4 and it will go on until June 8. Just like last year, the conference will be held in San Jose, California.
The company is expected to unveil the iOS 12, macOS 10.14, tvOS 12, and watchOS 5 operating systems at the WWDC 2018.
