Six months after the official unveiling, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus may get a new color variant. MacRumors have found a Virgin Mobile memo that hints Apple will soon be announcing Red colored iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. In fact, the company is speculated to unveil the new color variant of the smartphones later today.
While the news doesn't come from an official source, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman (whose predictions have been right on several occasions) has backed it up. If you are wondering, the leak doesn't mention the iPhone X. We don't expect a Red colored iPhone X because it is a pretty expensive handset. Moreover, Apple probably doesn't want to take the risk of making a special edition which may or may not sell well.
If the leak is legit, the Cupertino giant is coming up with new color options for its phones in an attempt to boost up the sales. It remains to be seen if a new color variant will rekindle enough interest among users to buy an iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus.
To recall, the 64GB variant of the iPhone 8 is priced at Rs. 64,000 in India. While the 256GB model is carrying a price tag of Rs. 77,000. Coming to the iPhone 8 Plus, its 64GB model is priced at Rs. 73,000 and the 256GB is retailing at Rs. 86,000. However, after the customs duty hike, the price has been increased.
In related news, a leakster recently claimed that Apple is planning to launch a Blush Gold color variant of the iPhone X. He also posted an image of the Blush Gold iPhone X on his Twitter account. His post also included two more images, with one of them showing a Gold colored SIM card tray. However, the leakster didn't provide us with any more details such as expected lunch timeline, availability, and price.
Let us know in the comments if you would buy a Red color variant of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
